Unions condemn killing in NC Hills

Zeliangrong Heraka Association Nagaland, Zeliangrong Heraka Youth Organization Nagaland and Zeliang Heraka Pailei Baudi Nagaland have condemned the gruesome murder of Nagas in NC Hills including five Zemi Nagas from the Zemi villages, Nampuidungbe and Haikiateung of Tungje village on March 19 and Tsuilungbe and Echeulung of Bourenew village on March 23 leaving behind seven people critically injured by DHD (J). Expressing concern to the innocent residents of several villages bordering areas who were driven out of their villages, the association in a condemnation note issued by Dr. Wilubo, president, Zeliangrong Heraka Association Nagaland recalled the intermittent clashes meted out on Nagas in NC Hills by Dimasa armed outfit in quest of creating Dima Raji out of N.C. Hills and Karbi Anglong for Dimasa's homeland. Heraka association appealed to all leaders of both the communities-Dimasa and Nagas to initiate fruitful dialogue across the table and sort out the misunderstanding before it flared up to areas inhabited by mixed population. Reiterating the past clashes between Dimasas and Karbis the association pleaded not to repeat the history and urged the leaders to resolve the issue at the earliest.
