Nagaland 'Rock Band' competition for AIDS awareness

Kohima, Nov 26 : The grand final of 'Rock Reach', a programme sponsored by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), is slated for November 27 at the DDSC Stadium in Dimapur. Interacting with newspersons here, Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare and NSACS chairman Menukhol John thanked the media for sensitising the people to the issues related to AIDS.

Event Coordinator of 'Rock Reach', Theja Meru said it is the biggest 'Rock' event of 2010 in the music calendar of Nagaland covering 11 districts and 70 number of bands.

UNICEF Consultant Dr Nyan Kikon said the message was on the lips of the masses. He urged the people in Nagaland to keep on discussing about HIV/AIDS. He informed that Minister for Health & Family Welfare Kuzholuzo Neinu will grace the Grand Finale as the Chief Guest where 11 winners in the district audition would be vying for the Red Ribbon Super Star title and taking part in December 1 World AIDS Day at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima and World Music Day on June 21, 2011, at Bangalore.
