Nagaland organises 1st Para-gliding show at Jotsoma

Jotsoma (Nagaland), Nov 18 : The Department of Youth Resources and Sports of the Government of Nagaland, under the Empowerment of Youth programme introduced in 2004-2005, has taken up many Adventure sports in the state and its first Para-gliding show was organized at a hill top of Jotsoma this morning.

Nagaland Youth Resources and Sports Secretary Bendang Longchari, who was present in the Para-gliding camp, told newsmen that altogether 16 youths, including one girl, have participated in Para-gliding show today from all the eleven districts of Nagaland.

Originally there was 22 participants from eleven districts representing two from each districts, but six youths were injured during the training.

The trainers of the show are brought from outside the state.

Longchari further said that the Department has taken up some other programme of Adventure Sports like rafting in rough rivers, hang gliding, mountaineering, rock climbing, which will also attract the youth of the state.
