Two youths murdered along Nagaland-Assam border

Kohima, Oct 18 : Dimapur police, along with its Assam counterpart, recovered the bodies of two Naga youths along the inter-state border between Nagaland and Assam.

Police suspected that they were murdered somewhere and their bodies were dumped along the railway tracks.

Official sources here today said the victims, identified as Rokovilie Angami (32) and Aye Kapfo (35), had gone to catch frogs in the river Dhansiri on Saturday night and did not return home.

Some passersby noticed the bodies of the victims at Notun Basti on the railway tracks on Sunday morning and informed the police.

Accordingly, police from Dimapur and Assam side arrived on the spot. The victims were murdered by attacking with sharp edged weapons on their heads. The victims hailed from Toulazou village under Dimapur district. One of the victim's arms was also severed.

A case has been registered with the Government Railway Police Station at Dimapur as the bodies were found on the railway tracks.

However, post-mortem was performed at the Dimapur district hospital and the case is under investigation, sources said.
