Official sources here today said the Assembly staff on duty noticed sparks inside a room of the Assembly Secretariat and immediately sounded an alarm and informed the Fire Brigade personnel.
The staff of the Assembly then immediately disconnected the electric supply to the office.
Soon Fire Brigade personnel arrived and extinguished the blaze.
The Seventh Session of the Eleventh Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which is the Budget Session, began at the Assembly Hall yesterday and today is recess.
The Budget for the year 2010-2011 would be presented on the floor of the House tomorrow by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the Finance portfolio.
