The Session began with the Obituary References of former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and former member of Interim Body (a body formed to rule Nagaland after obtaining Statehood in 1963 and before the first election of the state in 1964) Khumting Konyak.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Leader of Opposition Tokheho Yepthomi paid rich tributes to both the leaders during the Obituary references and on the call of the Speaker, observed two minutes silence.
The Speaker informed the House that the condolence messages of the Nagaland Assembly would be conveyed to the family members of the departed souls by the Assembly Secretary.
