Nagaland hit by LPG shortage

Kohima, Jun 22 : The people of Nagaland is facing a hard time with the shortage of the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders.

The Dimapur district administration had informed that due to repairing and cleaning works in the bottling plants in some refineries in the region, especially the plant in Tinsukia, has resulted in the shortage of cylinders throughout the state.

However, the consumers have complained that excessive use of domestic LPG cylinders in the hotels and restaurants throughout the state is another reason of shortage. Some of the hoarders are selling Rs 600 to 800 per refilled cylinder in Kohima town.

However, the cost in the black market in Dimapur is up to Rs 1300 per cylinder.
