A highly-placed party source, speaking on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the decision was arrived at during a meeting of the search committee here on February 1.
He also said that the committee has submitted its recommendation to the party president and the NPF’s central office for necessary action. The approval of the party working committee is awaited, he added.
The NPF Search Committee is headed by PHED Minister Noke Konyak. Other members of the committee are Home Minister G Kaito Aye, Planning and Coordination Minister TR Zeliang, Forest Minister Y Patton and Parliamentary Secretary Pangnyu Phom.
