An earthquake of high intensity shook entire Nagaland this evening at
around 1810 hrs, however, there was no report of loss of human life or
property so far. Official sources said the intensity of the tremor
in Nagaland could not be ascertained immediately as there is no any
Meteorological centre in the state and it could be confirmed by only
Shillong or Guwahati Meteorological Centres. The intensity was
very high and the entire state swung for over five seconds. People ran
out of their houses, searching for safe shelter. Reports of quake
also poured in from different district headquarters and so far, there
was no news of any damage or loss of life, sources said.
