A 15-year-old schoolboy, son of a businessman in Dimapur, the commercial capital of Nagaland, who was kidnapped by unidentified miscreants on Thursday, was finally released on Sunday.
Tushar Mehra, a Class-X student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dimapur, was left by his abductors near the Bokajan Railway Station in Assam, about 20 kms from Dimapur, in a semi-conscious state. He was later picked up by the police and handed over to his parents.
Abduction of children of businessmen has become a new menace in Dimapur, where several underground factions are known to collect funds by way of imposing ‘tax’ on the people. Tushar is the fifth child to have been abducted in the past three months, reports said.
