FNR for high level reconciliation meet of Naga rebel leaders

Kohima, Aug 03 : The 'Forum for Naga Reconciliation' (FNR) wished to express its deepest gratitude to all fellow Nagas for the support they extended to the Naga Reconciliation- A Journey of Common Hope and the Naga Reconciliation in the last 36 months, which made significant progress through solidarity and prayers.

In a release here today 'FNR convener' Rev Dr Wati Aier said of late, the Naga Reconciliation process slowed down and reached a stalemate.

Nonetheless, the three signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation-- 'NSCN-IM, NSCN (K) and Naga National Council (Federal Government of Nagaland)' remained fully committed to the reconciliation process.

At this point of time, it WAS of absolute necessity for the top leaders of the three signatories to without any further delay. The intent of the highest level reconciliation meeting would be to explore together the possibilities of a new reconciled political relationship among the signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation and to develop a joint working mechanism to pursue the historical and political rights of the Nagas, he said.
