'Reconciliation should be honoured'

DIMAPUR: The NSCN (K) on Wednesday said the ongoing reconciliation process should be honoured and the opportunities it provides should be availed by every political party for a political solution to the Naga problem through negotiations with the Centre.

"Taking into account the sufferings of Nagas, it is but natural and imperative not only to expedite the on-going political dialogue but also to include those parties still outside the purview of the political process," a release issued by NSCN said.

The NSCN (K) added that the Khehoi camp justification on its merger arrangement with the IM and attributed this approach as entirely in reciprocation to FNR's "reconciliation and unification" process. "Judging the belligerent stance and open militant threat to attack NSCN designated camp in Suruhuto by continuous deployment of armed cadres in and around the camp vicinity and provocatively conveying to us of the imminent raid indicates an unholy collusion of the two forces against the NSCN. NSCN being a partner in FNR's Covenant of Reconciliation and Khehoi camp's passionate retribution strategy implies the role of FNR," the statement said.
