Nagas in Myanmar back FNR peace bid

DIMAPUR: TheNagasin Myanmar and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) have decided to strengthen and take forward the ongoing process to bring together all warring Naga groups on the basis of their historical and political rights.

The decision was taken at a three-day meeting that attended by people and church leaders representing the common aspirations of the Nagas in Myanmar and FNR leaders. The primary agenda of the meeting was to build bridged between the two sides and "rise above the geographical barriers" towards realizing the Nagas' dream.

The meeting, which ended on Friday, urged the Naga groups to honour the "Covenant of Reconciliation" and remain committed to addressing all outstanding issues through mutual respect and understanding and non-violent means.
