Hazadisa village council chairman Robin Langthasa said about youths from Khekiho came to Hazadisa on June 16 and beat up Manen Langthasa, a member of the village council. The following day, about 40 youth from Khekiho again raided Hazadisa, assaulted some locals and destroyed household materials worth Rs 10 lakh, besides taking some motorcycles and about Rs 60,000 in cash.
The council alleged that ever since Khekiho was set up in 1992, its villagers have been encroaching on Hazadisa land. "The Hazadiza village council has been complaining against illegal encroachment to the district administration, but authorities have not taken any action so far," Langthasa said.
