IGAR celebrates 26th Raising Day at Kohima

The Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) (IGAR-N) celebrated its 26th raising day from May 28 to 30 here.

According to a release issued by the Public Relation Officer of IGAR (N) Lt Col R P Velu, Maj Gen Sandeep Singh held a special sainik sammelan at Karim Hall May 29.

Speaking to the troops, he highlighted the contribution of each soldier of the Assam Rifles in general and Headquarters of IGAR (N) in particular towards maintaining peace and tranquility in the state of Nagaland.

He exhorted all ranks for their contribution to strive hard for achieving excellence. He also felicitated the individuals of the Headquarter who had displayed exemplary performance during the past years and gave annual cash awards.

Lieutenant General Rameshwar Roy, Director General of Assam Rifles and Lieutenant General Dalbir Singh, GOC 3 Corps, were to join the celebration today along with senior serving and retired officers, AR sources said.
