Rio criticises imposition of President rule in Meghalaya

Kohima , Mar 20 : Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphu Rio today criticised the Centre for imposing President rule in Meghalaya and said the UPA government had done the same in Nagaland last year but his party came back to power after the assembly election held during the central rule.

Speaking at a function here to distribute Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) tickets to candidates for Lok Sabha poll and assembly by-elections, Rio said, the Meghalaya Speaker had not done anything wrong in applying anti-defection law in the assembly before the trust vote.
