NSF to check central service recruitment

Kohima, February 26 : The Naga Students’ Federation has taken serious note of the “non-implementation of the reservation for SC/ST and reservation for indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland by the departments under central government”.

Making this contention during the organization’s 5th federal assembly, the NSF reaffirmed its commitment to check and monitor all central service recruitments. The NSF also cautioned – especially the BSNL – for prevailing discrepancies in the “department”, according to NSF speaker Cusayi Lohe.

On job reservation, the students resolved to constitute a committee on the 33% job reservation policy, to study the issue for further action, Lohe said. On the affiliation of schools to NBSE, the federation ‘considered the plights and difficulties our students are undergoing’.

The NSF endorsed the matter to the All Naga Students’ Association of Manipur for in-depth study and research. The response is to be tabled in the next federal assembly of the NSF for further course of action.”

The organization also assured to fight the land encroachment in any educational institution, with concern federating units and subordinate bodies.

In other matters, the NSF assembly expressed appreciation to the Forum for Naga Reconciliation for its tireless efforts to bringing about unity and reconciliation amongst the various Naga “national” groups. The NSF has extended unconditional support and participation towards the reconciliation process.

The NSF has also denounced the abduction and killing of an SDO and two others recently and has urged the authorities to book the killers for befitting punishment, at the earliest. Meanwhile, nominated members for the 23rd NSF general conference organizing committee, which is to be held at Mopungchuket village from April 27, have been accepted.
