Maj Gen Nehra appreciated the contribution of officers, JCOs and personnel of Assam Rifles for their contribution in maintaining peace and harmony in the state, an Assam Rifles release said.
Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR) Maj Gen Sandeep Singh briefed him on the security situation in the state after his arrival here on Friday.
He also thanked state government officials, civil society groups, media personnel, Churches and all gaon burhas (GBs) for supporting and cooperating with the security forces in maintenance of law and order, the release said.
