Nagaland readies itself to celebrate I-Day tomorrow

Kohima, Aug 14 : Security has been beefed up in all district and sub-divisional headquarters here in view of the Independence day celebrations tomorrow.

Security agencies are on a high alert from external threat as insurgent elements from the neighbouring state may infiltrate into the state.

However, there was no internal threat to boycott or sabotage the programmes in the state from any underground outfit in Nagaland.

Almost all the outfits of neighbouring Assam and Manipur have given a boycotted the celebrations.

The main function will be held at this capital town of Kohima, where Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will unfurl the tri-colour at the Secretariat Plaza tomorrow morning followed by Guard of Honour, speech of the chief guest, march past by the contingents, cultural programme and inauguration of a photo exhibition of the Election Commission of India with a theme 'Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy'.
