Rio appeals to insurgents to unite in spirit of reconciliation

Kohima, Jul 27 : Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has appealed to all underground groups to come together in the spirit of reconciliation to speak in a common Naga voice to find out an acceptable settlement to the Naga political problem.

Replying to the General Discussion on the Budget for the year 2010-2011 at the Budget Session of the Assembly last evening Mr Rio appreciated the role of Naga Hoho, Churches and Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) for the signing of 'Covenant of Reconciliation' among all underground groups that led to the unification of NSCN(K) and Naga National Council (Federal Government of Nagaland-NNC/FGN).

He appealed to all underground groups to unite and speak a common Naga voice to the Government of India to find a acceptable and lasting solution to the Naga political problem.

Mr Rio further assured that his Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) Government will continue to facilitate in the entire peace process to find out a solution to the Naga political problem.
