The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) today welcomed the decision of the Naga Students Federation (NSF) to lift the economic blockade on Manipur.
In a release issued here, NBCC Director of Peace Affairs Rev L Kari Longchar and Chairman of Peace Committee Huzo Meru said, ''Having seen the great suffering of innocent masses, NBCC and All Manipur Christian Organisation had a meeting with NSF and other stake holders and appealed earnestly to lift the blockade on humanitarian grounds,'' the release said.
''The consideration and positive response the NSF is now showing for the suffering of the people is highly appreciated. Once again we urge NSF and other contending parties to resolve the issue through peaceful means of dialogue without further confrontation,'' the religious leaders said.
