Seven Assam Rifles personnel killed in road mishap

Kohima, Aug 15 : At least seven Assam Rifles personnel were killed, when their vehicle tumbled into a deep gorge in Nagaland's Peren district, officials said here today.

According to Assam Rifles officials, they were travelling on a routine duty yesterday, when their vehicle fell down into a gorge, while negotiating a sharp turn, about 18 km away from Tenning area.

The victims, included a Junior Commission Officer and six jawans of the paramilitary force, officials said, adding some other jawans also received wounds but they were out of danger.
