Naga militants refute Indian army’s claim

New Delhi, June 12 : The Nationa¬list Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K), which is the primary target of the Indian army, is reported to have refuted the claim that India conducted a raid on its two camps.

The group was quoted as saying that areas shown in the TV footage were non-existent. Besides, the areas, which were full of coconut trees, were not consistent with the terrain of the border region. The NSCN-K camps have no well-maintained footpaths or garden.There were no NSCN-K camps in areas claimed by the Indian army, the militant group was quoted as saying.

India believes that NSCN-K militants are behind the ambush in Manipur that killed 20 Indian troops.

Earlier, the Indian army had claimed that its para commandos assisted by Mi-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force, struck two camps of militants and inflicted significant casualties in Myanmar.
