Shah’s Nagaland visit a success: BJP

Kohima: The state BJP unit has hailed party's national president Amit Shah and general secretary (organization) Ram Lal's visit to the state as a success.

The party's media cell said the national leaders' visit has been able to fulfill the intended purpose and boost the morale of grassroots-level workers. The national president urged party workers to turn problems into possibilities and possibilities into opportunities and also emphasized on the need to strengthen the saffron party in the state, a statement released by the media cell said.

While seeking cooperation, Shah appealed to all sections of all society to understand that BJP is a secular party and there is no threat to Christians or any other minority groups. The state unit also congratulated Shah for reaching the landmark target of enrolling 10 crore members in BJP.

During the course of interaction with the state leaders, Shah said NE state, including Nagaland, do not lack funds and central assistance but it is corruption that has hampered the region's development. Funds meant for developmental purposes do not reach the intended beneficiaries and local party leaders should sincerely work to change the scenario, he added.

He told party workers that BJP would never ally with the opposition Congress and the two parties can never be in the same camp or government.

Shah called on the governor and discussed with him about the law and order situation in the state.
