New Delhi : The Gurgaon police on Friday arrested three men in connection with the attack on two Nagaland men — Awang Newme and Aloto Chester— on Wednesday night at Sikandarpur Village in Gurgaon.  The arrested were identified as Gaurav Yadav alias Pony (23), Ram Bihari (19) and Vijay Kumar (21). Police said a hunt is on for two more accused, Navin and Jaibir — both residents of Sikandarpur.

Naazneen Bhasin, chief nodal Officer for Crime Against People from Northeast Region (Gurgaon police), said, “The men were arrested from Sikandarpur. Gaurav is the the prime accused. Ram Bihari and Vijay Kumar were his tenants.”

Police said on Wednesday, the day of Assembly polls, the two Naga men and the arrested men bought liquor from a shop in Sikandarpur . “The victims and the accused were drinking together that night. Gaurav, the prime accused, asked Awang and Aloto to speak softly. An argument ensued over this and soon turned violent,” an officer said.

Awang and Aloto were tenants of Gaurav’s uncle. According to police, Gaurav is an accused in a similar case which took place in March this year.
