Assam Rifles busts illegal arms factory in Nagaland

Troops of the 18th Battalion of Assam Rifles and 29 Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sector of Assam Rifles, busted an illegal arms manufacturing workshop in Dimapur. According to a release issued by the PRO of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles(North) today, based on specific information, a search operation was conducted by the joint team in the area. The workshop was engaged in manufacturing and sale of illegal arms including .22 rifle and .22 pistol. It was located in a hideout inside a house in general area of Naga Cemetery in Dimapur town. During the operation one Manen Imsong(41) was apprehended and four .22 rifles, one .22 pistol, ammunition and various parts of weapons were recovered from him. Imsong and the recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to West police station of Dimapur.
