NSF condemns molestation of Naga woman

DIMAPUR, May 26 – The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has vehemently condemned the assault and molestation of a Naga woman at Vishwavidya Metro station, Delhi on May 22 and also the assault on leaders of Naga Students Union Delhi (NSUD) by a group of lawyers at Tiz Hazari Court on May 23. The NSUD leaders had accompanied the Naga woman to the court in connection with the alleged assault and molestation case.

The NSF in a release issued today alleged that none of the officials in the court intervened in the matter.

“The people of the Northeastern region have suffered enough. Therefore it is high time the policy makers should enact stringent laws against such perpetrators and strictly implement these in letter and spirit,” the NSF said.

The NSF further appealed to all the Northeastern people, particularly the Naga people residing in Delhi, to participate in a protest at Bar Council of India, Delhi on May 27 to show solidarity and support for the cause.
