Naga woman stabbed in Delhi; 1 held

A 23-year-old woman from Nagaland was stabbed Thursday, on her birthday, by her male friend following an argument at her rented house in Munirka-VasantVihar area, South Delhi. According to police, the victim who works in a call centre received wounds on her back and was undergoing treatment at AIIMS.
Delhi Police said the accused identified as one Mhabemo has been arrested. A case under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC has been registered at Vasant Vihar police station. A police officer said the matter came to their notice following a call made to the police control room (PCR). The officer said a police team rushed to the spot and took the victim to AIIMS Trauma Centre for medical assistance. “We have registered the case on the basis of the PCR call in which it was said that the woman was attacked by her male friend. However, the woman in her statement before the doctors did not accuse him for her injuries,” the officer said, adding further investigation is on.
