DAN to kick start LS poll campaign from Dimapur

The ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland will kick-start its campaign for the April 9 election to the state's sole Lok Sabha seat from Dimapur on March 27. DAN comprises the Naga Peoples Front (NPF), BJP and JD(U) and also enjoys outside support of the NCP. It has endorsed Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the consensus candidate. DAN convener and NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu informed the media during a book release function here that the party's election manifesto will be similar to that of the previous Lok Sabha polls. Dr. Liezietsu also stated that this time the NPF will not put up a party candidate for the parliamentary polls in Arunachal Pradesh. Instead it will fight the forthcoming assembly elections there. The party has fielded its nominee in Manipur for the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency.
