Border areas development minister Siddeque Ahmed, revenue and tea tribe development minister Prithibi Majhi and Lok Sabha MP and former Union minister Bijoy Krishna Handique visited the trouble-torn Mariani and Naginijan areas along the interstate border on Sunday.
The ministers assured the people of the area that they would work towards resolving the interstate dispute without delay and asked all to maintain peace and harmony along the border.
At a public meeting held at Naginojan Tea Garden, the ministers also announced some development projects for the border areas in the district. In their speeches, the ministers and the local MP announced the state government would take up projects like construction of the Naginijan Dhodor Ali road, a community hall and a library soon.
