Governor Nikhil Kumar and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio jointly gave away the awards during the inaugural function of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland at Kisama Naga Heritage Village yesterday. In his speech Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio informed that the Nagaland Government had introduced the 'Young Naga Achiever Award' from this year. A booklet with the profile of the three achievers said the Young Naga Achievers Award had been instituted by the State Government in order to recognise the achievements and success of young Nagas at the national and international levels.
The award, apart from recognising their efforts, is also meant to inspire and motivate Naga youth to strive for their dreams and realise their ambitions.
The stories of these selected awardees are meant to send out a message to the youth that with dedication and hard work, there are no limits and that aspirations are meant to be attained, it said.
