Non-Naga identification drive launched

DIMAPUR, Nov 30 – The NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) today informed that it has commenced the first phase of identification drive for all non-Nagas above the age of 15 in Nagaland.

An MIP NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) release said the drive is being carried out by its ‘Kilo Ministry’, in coordination with UT I and other regional authorities based on the meeting of GBs and council chairmen of villages, colonies, wards and Khels of Dimapur held on October 2 at Designated Camp Khehoi and the meeting of all non-Naga community leaders held at Hotel Saramati on October 28. Indian paramilitary forces and government job holders are, however, exempted from the drive, the release said.

The outfit said the main aim is to control the influx of non-locals into Nagaland, particularly illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. It added that the crime graph against Nagas by non-locals is increasing and that illegal entry is a threat to Naga society and future.

The release informed that all non-Nagas above the age of fifteen are “required to report to NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) officials in charge of colonies and wards before December 18”.
