Naga Council call to expel illegal aliens

DIMAPUR, Nov 14 – The Public Action Committee (PAC) on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants has called upon the Angami community of Medziphema and Chumukedima to nip the menace of illegal immigrants in their jurisdiction by identifying all such illegal immigrants and expelling them. The PAC has been formed by the Naga Council.

The PAC in a press release stressed that where their alien status is difficult to prove, boycotting of their business establishments through awareness Pledge Campaign should be taken up immediately.

Emphasising that tackling illegal Bangladeshi immigrants (IBI) is a joint effort, the release said PAC alone cannot handle this unless there is a pan-Naga effort and added that now is the time to do so.

The PAC alleged that certain Muslim organisations do not want identification of IBI community at any cost while adding that identification of IBI community is anything but to check anti-social activities by this community.

The PAC rued that when members from the IBI community commit crimes, Muslim organisations refuse to take responsibility and feign ignorance. “Such a stance will not build healthy relationships,” it said.
