The followers of Christianity, today observed Good Friday to commemorate the suffering and death of Lord Jesus Christ in various churches in Nagaland. The people of this Christian-majority state observed the day with Good Friday Services, including the Veneration of the Cross and the Way of the Cross services. The Good Friday is a culmination of the Holy Week observed by the Catholic Churches. The day is being observed as a day of prayer, penance and repentance. In Kohima, town a big mass service had been organised at the Old MLA Hostel Junction this morning. Meanwhile, Kohima Baptist Pastors' Fellowship (KBPF), Kohima has organised Easter Sunrise Service on the Easter Sunday next, which will start at 0500 hrs at the Kohima War Cemetery. Rev Keviyiekielie Liny, president of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) would attend the function. Greetings will be delivered by Dr Nicky Kire, MLA and Chairman, Nagaland Khadi and Village Industries Board and Advisor, Music Task Force. The service leader will be Rev Dr Rachlie Vihienuo, Pastor of the Union Baptist Church. Call to worship will be led by School of Music, Kohima, while scripture reading and prayer would be performed by Rev Asangba Ao, Senior Pastor of the Ao Baptist Church Kohima and songs will be presented by Chang Baptist Church Choir, Quartet (Sumi Baptist Church) besides benediction to be pronounced by Rev Khrotso Mero, Senior Pastor of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima.
