According to official sources the deceased was identified as one Kelhouba from Merema village.
The injured Assam Rifles constables were airlifted to Rangapahar for treatment.
Assam Rifles sources confirmed that two of their injured jawans were airlifted to Rangapahar Army Hospital at the 3 Corps near Dimapur.
Police said Assam Rifles personnel and the police have started a combing operation in the area.
Details were awaited.
