Eastern Naga Students stick on 'Frontier Nagaland'

Kohima, Aug 2 : The Eastern Naga Students' Federation (ENSF) has appreciated the state government proposal to recommend 'Autonomous Status' to the eastern Nagaland for approval to the Centre, but reiterated that its demand for a full-fledged state remains firm.

This was informed in a press note from ENSF President Hawang T Wangsha and General Secretary Changsang.

''Recommending 'autonomous status' has boosted up our morale and spirit, but we are strongly committed to the statehood demand of Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO), as reaffirmed during the Steering Committee Meeting of ENPO on May 15, 2011 at Longleng Town,'' the statement said.

In this connection, the Federation informed that anyone writing or commenting in any form, either in print, mass media, pertaining to the ENPO’s demand of statehood of Frontier Nagaland should not be misinterpreted or misconstrued since ENPO and ENSF are strongly pursuing the statehood demand, it added.
