Replying to a question of Congress MLA K V Pusa during the Question Hour in the floor of the House, Mr Rio said the ENPO submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on November 25 last year demanding separate statehood for the ENPO dominated districts of Nagaland.
A copy of the same was also submitted to Nagaland Governor and subsequently ENPO leaders met the Union Home Minister on 6th December last year.
Accordingly the Union Home Ministry and the Governor of Nagaland asked the Nagaland Government to offer their view on the demand of a separate statehood.
Accordingly Nagaland Cabinet of Minister met on February 10 and constituted a High level Committee of bureaucrats led by Chief Secretary, which has invited the leaders of the ENPO to come for a discussion.
He assured the House that after meeting and thorough discussions with the ENPO leaders, the state government will take decision to give a speedy development in the eastern Nagaland areas.
