NPCC concerned over increasing crimes in Nagaland

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed concern over the increasing spate of criminal activities, particularly extortion and kidnapping for ransom, against the habitual claims of peace by the ruling Nagaland Government.

In a statement, NPCC General Secretary Inavi Jimomi here today pointed out that criminal activities have been rampant in the state.

He alleged that the leader of the ruling party are in the habit of claiming that there is peace in the state at a time when extortion and kidnapping, especially in Dimapur, has become rampant. ''It is high time for the people living in Nagaland, specially those in power and those people capable of influencing or educating the people, to ponder over this deplorable state so that it can be changed for the better,'' the NPCC sources said.
