Death toll in ethnic violence rise to five

 Haflong, Jul 5 The death toll in yesterday's ethnic clash between Dimasa and Zemi-Naga tribes in trouble torn North Cachar hill district of Assam today rose to five with the recovery of bodies of three children.

Police said three bodies of children were found from Semkhor village, around 500 kms from Guwahati, which was attacked yesterday by Zemi-Naga miscreants.

A woman and her daughter were hacked to death yesterday in troubled North Cachar Hills district during the ongoing violence between the warring Dimasa and Zemi-Naga tribes.

Police reinforcements have been rushed to the remote area.

Altogether, 26 persons belonging to the two warring communities have lost their lives and 150 houses burnt in the ongoing clash between the two communities since last month.
