“GPRN/NSCN” to discuss CF extension
“GPRN/NSCN” kilonser C Singson

Athibung (Peren) | April 15 : The “GPRN/NSCN” will hold a “cabinet meeting” within a week’s time to discuss the issue of extension of ceasefire between the Government of India and the NSCN (K).  “External affairs” kilonser of the outfit, C Singson told media-persons that after the “cabinet” meeting, the ceasefire supervisory board (CFSB) members including Wangtin Konyak, Hukato, Nitovi, Bohoto and C Singson will leave for Delhi to discuss with the Home Ministry on the extension of ceasefire, which expires this month.

Singson remains hopeful of reconciliation process“We are likely to go for extension of ceasefire. So far we haven’t started dialogue with the Government of India and till that time, we need to have ceasefire,” he said. Meanwhile, queried  on the move for reconciliation and unification between the Naga armed groups initiated by civil society including Forum for Naga Reconciliation, Singson said “We need to have power of understanding, then we’ll have power of acceptance. If we have that, then I think we’ll have power to forgive.”

He said that although Nagas, as Christians, talk a lot about “peace and reconciliation” and “forgive and forget”, without the power of “understanding, acceptance and forgiveness,” there would be no breakthrough.

Singson said it was his personal view that the forum should continue with its initiative. “I don’t know why all of a sudden people are silent and things seem to come to a standstill. But I’m optimistic that public leaders and NGOs are working in the interest of the Nagas,” he added.
