Congress for Naga integration

Dimapur, April 7 : Following the statement of AICC general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi that Manipur’s territorial integrity will not be altered, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee today said it is for integration.

“In consonance with the wishes and aspiration of the Naga people, the Nagaland Congress party joined hands with other state political parties in unanimously passing four resolutions for integrations of all Naga-inhabited areas in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly” the NPCC stated in a note from its media cell chairman R Paphino.

“The Nagaland Congress party is part and parcel of those resolutions” it said.

Further, the NPCC said, in its 2008 election manifesto it was pledged to the Naga people that the party would continue to urge upon the Government of India the need to implement the 16-point agreement of 1960 in letter and spirit.

“This election manifesto was released with due approval of All Indian National Congress (AICC).

The NPCC stands to ensure that the ardent desire and aspiration of the Naga people is fulfilled and there is no ambiguity as far as this issue is concerned” the NPCC added.
