Rs 37 lakh for disabled in Nagaland

KOHIMA, March 2 – The Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment through its Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) scheme has allocated Rs 37 lakh to Nagaland.

The assistance has been given with allocation of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, ALIMCO funds to the tune of Rs 4 lakh to each district, while Tuensang district has received the highest allocation of Rs 9 lakh for provision of aid and appliance to persons with disabilities, PWDs.

The type of aid includes distribution of tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks, folding cane for Visual Handicapped (VH), hearing aid and prosthesis.
