Dimapur, March 6 : Dreamz Unlimited, a theatre society of Nagaland represented the state in the theatre festival of Romancing India’s Northeast: An Akshara Theatre Celebration” held at New Delhi. The festival was inaugurated by Mani Shankar Aiyar, Minister for Development of North East Region (DONER). The society performed their famous original play “Technicolor Dream” on February 28 and March 1.
The play is a rare combination of music, dance, satire and drama to bring out cutting-edge theatre that explores contemporary life in this Nagamese-English production from Dimapur, Nagaland, directed by Robijita Gogoi and performed by Dreamz Unlimited Company. The play also reflects the present socio-economic and political scenario of the Naga society. A press release issued by the Society said that the people of Delhi were charmed by the essence, culture and issues of Naga Society which they could feel in the play.
The Dreamz Unlimited team got the privilege to be interviewed by the CNN-IBN News Channel and also did a documentary shooting for director Robijita Gogoi. The team will be performing next at Agartala on March 27 and 28.
It may be mentioned that they have earlier performed in the Mumbai Octave Festival and Poorvatar Natya Samaroh, Gangtok. Dreamz Unlimited has acknowledged NEZCC for always extending support and encouraging theatre in Nagaland.
