Naga Govt to Centre: Disclose progress in talks on Naga issue

Kohima , Mar 13 Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today asked the Centre to disclose the progress made in talks with Naga groups in solving the vexed Naga issue.

Participating in the debate on the governor&aposs address, Rio told the assembly that since the state government was not a party to the political talks between the Centre and the underground leaders, it was not in a position to spell out the status of the peace dialogue.

He said that the Congress members should ask the UPA Government and the underground leaders to disclose the status of the negotiations and the proposals made by the Naga leaders to the Centre.

Urban Development Minister Shurhozelie said as elected representatives of the people, all members of the assembly should have equal concern for the vexed Naga political problem.
