‘PC JEWELLERS MISS INDIA WORLDWIDE –2009 CONCLUDES IN A GRAND STYLE’

New Delhi, Feb 8 : The leading name in the Jewellery industry - PC Jewellers (PCJ) and also the title sponsors of the PC Jewellers Miss India Worldwide- India 2009, organized the beauty pageant hunt which concluded in Delhi on 31st January, 2009.

In association with Tijori Entertainment and Kaleidovision, this grand event was held at Hansdhwani Theatre, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Bollywood Divas Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia and Yana Gupta enlightened the event with their gracious live performances. Also Euphoria rocked Delhites with its live performances.

The crown was won by the lovely 23-year-old Deepthi Mary Varughese from Kerala, who was also given a cash price of Rs 1,50,000 apart from the title Crown.

The first runner-up was 21-year-old Surbhi Mishra, from Dehradun, and the second runner-up was 21-year-old Rucha Gawas, from Pune, and they got Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively as a token of their prize money, with the titles.

The competition was not confined to the territory of India but to a global level for the selection of a beauty fit. The fore most motive and purpose of this event, compered by glamorous Neha Dhupia and handsome hunk, Rahul Khanna, was to give the Indian culture, a recognition on a world wide level.

This grand beauty pageant had the honour of having a talented jury like Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar; Supermodel turned Actor- Milind Soman; Fashion Designer Rina Dhaka; Former Miss India Nafisa Ali; FDCI President Sunil Sethi; Choreographer Sandip Soparrkar; Actor-Entrepreneur Deepak Tijori; CEO of Mudra Communications, Pratap Bose; and Neeraj Kansal, Director, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Not only this event promoted the Indian cultural values on an International level but also it chose one woman out of hundreds of contestants who is the most suitable to reflect the image of an Indian woman.

It will be certainly not an exaggeration if we say that the step taken by PCJ will help the Indians come closer to their culture. The winner will now further go on to compete in an international pageant with Indian women selected from more than 25 countries.
