Militants urged to realise urgency of reconciliation

KOHIMA, Feb 25 – A two-day Naga convention has expressed solidarity with the current reconciliation process today, saying the political process seeking to realise and exercise Naga rights must be inclusive in nature.

Participating in the convention different Naga tribes, underground groups and churches adopted a statement of commitment urging all organizations to ‘genuinely and honestly’ implement the values of re-conciliation.

The convention here was organised by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), an umbrella body comprising church workers, representatives of tribal Hohos (council) and civil society organisations.

The solidarity statement said the reconciliation must take place at the highest levels of all Naga political (underground) groups on the basis of historical and political rights of the Nagas.

It called upon every Naga to sensibly respond and demonstrate their active solidarity and participation for the re-conciliation.
